Project Environmental Planner

Full-time salaried position

Job description: SWCA Environmental Consultants is soliciting resumes from qualified individuals for the position of Project Environmental Planner. This position's responsibilities would be to develop large-scale natural resource management plans for public land agencies. This would include, assembling and managing the efforts of technical staff; scheduling and coordination of meetings with public agencies, clients and the public; developing and documenting the planning process and typical work products of the planning process including management plans, conservation plans, implementation plans, and public involvement plans; and development of Environmental Impact Statements.

Minimum requirements: BS or equivalent in Environmental Planning, Landscape Architecture or related field; a graduate degree in Environmental Planning or Landscape Architecture with a strong background and/or undergraduate degree in biological or cultural resources (strongly preferred); three years of experience directly related to this positions responsibilities; candidates must be located in, or willing to relocate to the Las Vegas, Nevada area; and must be available to commence work by December 1, 2001. The salary is negotiable.

This position will develop wildland interface fire management plans and large-scale natural resource management plans for public land agencies. This is a full-time, salaried position.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, assembling and managing the efforts of technical staff; scheduling and coordination of meetings with public agencies, clients and the public; developing and documenting the planning process and typical work products of the planning process including management plans, conservation plans, implementation plans, and public involvement plans; inventory and assessment of rural community infrastructure, and development of Environmental Impact Statements

Qualifications: Minimum requirements: BS or equivalent, Environmental Planning, Landscape Architecture , Community or Urban Planning or related field; a graduate degree in Environmental Planning or Landscape Architecture with a strong background and/or undergraduate degree in biological or cultural resources (strongly preferred) and three years of experience directly related to this position's responsibilities. Candidates must be located in, or willing to relocate to the Reno, Nevada area and must be available to commence work by January 1, 2002. The salary is negotiable.
