Society for Ecological Restoration
The
Society for Ecological Restoration, an international professional
organization based in Tucson, Arizona, seeks an experienced
non-profit manager of: overall Society operations, financial
management, program administration, annual appeals, corporate
and foundation support, membership growth, board development,
and staff and volunteer supervision. The ED oversees annual
conferences, publications, science and policy, and education
programs. The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal,
communication, facilitation, and organizational skills, with
a proven record of achievement in fundraising. A passion for
Earth's natural and cultural diversity and a global perspective
are strongly desired.
SER
(ser.org) serves the rapidly growing field of Ecological Restoration
through facilitating dialogue among restorationists, encouraging
research, promoting awareness of and public support for restoration
and restorative management, contributing to public policy discussions,
and recognizing outstanding contributions to the field of restoration.
Founded in 1988, it has members in 31 countries and all 50 US
states, with 13 chapters in the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe,
Australia, and India, with tremendous growth potential. The
2,300 members actively engaged in ecologically-sensitive repair
and management of ecosystems are scientists, planners, administrators,
ecological consultants, first peoples, landscape architects,
philosophers, teachers, engineers, natural areas managers, writers,
artists, growers, community activists, and volunteers.
