Biohydrology Specialist
Mississippi River Basin

The Nature Conservancy is hiring a Biohydrology Specialist to spearhead collaborative efforts to naturalize the water flow regime in the Upper Mississippi River Basin. The Manager will coordinate and build relationships between the Conservancy and public and private partners, in particular working with the US Army Corps of Engineers and others to implement strategies designed to naturalize the water flow regime. The Specialist will develop integral partnerships with the scientific and water management community in order to advocate for water management alternatives using sound scientific information. The Specialist will also seek sources of public funding for the Conservancy’s freshwater programs related to Upper Mississippi River in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois and Missouri, and will frequently represent the Conservancy at conferences and meetings convened by private and public partners. This position requires knowledge of water management issues, excellent communication and organization skills, and proven effectiveness at working for or dealing directly with public agencies. Must be willing to travel throughout the Upper Mississippi River Basin, occasionally working long hours and weekends if necessary. Degree required and working knowledge of the Upper Mississippi River ecosystem desired. EOE
