Katonah, NY
The
Watershed Agricultural Council seeks an Engineering Technician for
its Croton Watershed Agricultural Program office in Northern Westchester
County, NY. The engineering technician will be responsible for the
development and implementation of Whole Farm Plans with the New
York City' East-of-Hudson Croton Watershed. Duties and responsibilities
will include the survey and design and construction supervision
of agricultural best management practices, preparation of engineering
designs and must have experience in construction inspection and
documentation of as-builts. Candidates must experience in AutoCAD
or Soft Desk, and the ability to maintain a professional working
relationship within a team setting with minimal supervision. Educational
requirements include an associate's degree in Civil Engineering
or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred), a minimum of two
years experience in designing and implementing best management practices,
or a minimum of five years of successful on-the-job experience.
Salary commensurate with experience.

The
Croton watershed is a 318 square mile watershed located in the southeastern
portion of New York State, east of the Hudson River. The watershed
includes portions of Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester Counties of
New York and Fairfield County, CT. The Croton system, New York City's
first upstate drinking water supply, provides about 10% of NYC’s daily
water consumption from 12 reservoirs and three controlled lakes in
Putnam and Westchester Counties.
