Environmental Health. Requisition Number: 427-19423af. County of Vacancy:
Cherokee. Recruitment Period: 11/01/2000 - 12/31/2000. Annual Salary
Minimum: $22,682.00. Annual Salary Maximum: $42,431.88. Duties & Responsibilities:
Under direct supervision and in a training status, performs environmental
health inspections for the Public Health Division and recommends enforcement
actions as needed. Investigates complaints and provides environmental
health education and technical assistance to the general public, regulated
community and officials. Implements county-wide programs for compliance,
monitoring, enforcement and corrective action in conjunction with
environmental health laws, rules and regulations. Serves as compliance
officer and liaison between Public Health agencies and facilities,
municipalities, institutions, organizations and county and state agencies.
Interprets Local, State, and Federal environmental health laws and
regulations. Minimum Training & Experience: Completion of a bachelor's
degree at an accredited four-year college or university which included
the completion of forty (40) quarter hours (or 27 semester hours)
in laboratory sciences (e.g., chemistry, biology). Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of a major in environmental health science. Additional
Information: The duties of this position will be shared between Cherokee
County (Canton) and Pickens County (Jasper) 50% time each. This job
