Geologist
II - North Dakota Geological Survey. Starting Salary Range:
$2,700 -3,149/month plus benefits. Closing Date: December 31, 2000.
Location: Bismarck, ND Position Number: 405-4003. Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of a master's degree in geology with geologic mapping experience
above and beyond the traditional summer field course. A broad background
in surface, environmental and economic geology. Experience with geologic
mapping. Ability to conduct field studies of surface sites, to prepare
geologic maps utilizing aerial photographs, soil maps and other available
source material. Familiarity with glacial deposits is desirable. Effective
oral and written communication skills are essential. Ability to prepare
technical reports of geologic studies for users and for publication
in technical journals. Individual should be self-motivated and have
the ability to devise programs. Knowledge of GIS-ArcView is desirable.
