supervision, conducts and evaluates air dispersion modeling of Industrial
and institutional facilities to determine off-site ambient impacts
for construction and operating permits; assists in the collection
and interpretation of statistical data for special research projects
including ozone and fine particulate matter analyses; consults with
industrial officials and consultants concerning air dispersion modeling
issues; serves as a technical resource within the air modeling section
on math and statistics issues. A high school diploma and experience
in environmental health programs or radiological health. A bachelor's
degree in the natural or physical sciences, mathematics, public
health, engineering or a related technical field may be substituted
for the require Additional Requirements: A master's degree in the
natural or physical sciences or related technical Field; or a bachelor's
degree in the natural or physical sciences or related Technical
field and two years environmental or industry experience. Related
Technical fields may include engineering technology, industrial

Climatologist

Position Type: Temporary. Position#: T000001585. Provide management
for the SERCC's operational weather and climate databases. Monitor
the near-real time (NRT) noaaport weather and climate data transmissions.
Perform routine quality assurance and quality control of NRT and
archived data. Serve as the SERCC database liason between the national
climate data center and the SCDNR information management staff.
Monitor seasonal and annual climatic conditions of the southeastern
us. Provide weather and climate summaries for climate monitoring
and assessment. Provide information and feedback to state, regional,
and national climate monitoring programs, such as the drought monitor.
A bachelor's degree in climatology, meteorology or geography. For
