Aide [PCN R888] - $6.81 to $10.80 hourly (Step Range
15-32). The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife
Resources has one position available at Strawberry Reservoir in
Wasatch County, Utah. This is a seasonal position (no benefits)
from January 1 through May 15, 2001 (25-30 hours per week) and May
15 through November 30, 2001 (40 hours per week). Duties from January
1 through May 15 will be mainly conducting creel surveys at Strawberry
Reservoir including interviewing anglers to determine catch rate,
size, harvest, and angler opinions of management programs; angler
counts, entering creel data onto spreedsheet forms, data analysis
and other related duties. Duties from May 15 through September 30
will be as indicated above but also collecting and measuring fish
captured in gill netting, electrofishing, seining, and ichthyoplankton
sampling; assisting with fish stocking programs; assisting in the
operation of fish traps an fish spawning activities; assisting in
the collection of limnological information; data entry and analysis,
routine maintenance and office work; performs other related duties
as assigned. Housing is available at the reservoir field station
at no charge during the spring and summer months. Housing may also
be available during the winter upon special request. JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
Experience and ability to operate boats and 4-wheel drive vehicles;
experience with Word Perfect Quattro Pro, Excel, and Paradox; ability
to work alone in inclement weather conditions, willingness to work
variable schedule. Skilled in basic statistics and data collection;
knowledge of meristic analysis; knowledge of fish anatomy; knowledge
of word processing and spreadsheet programs; good public relations
skills. Preference will be given to applicants having a B.S. degree
or those actively pursuing a university degree in biological sciences.

Park
Manager I [PCN S068] $14.56 TO $23.09 per hour (Step
43-60). The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks and
Recreation has one position available in Boulder, Utah. This position
has a probationary period of 12 months. Responsible for a wide variety
of assignments including general administration of Anasazi State
Park; participates in the development of resource management plans
(RMP); develops and administers an annual budget based on goals/objectives
established during the RMP process; develops alternative funding
sources; coordinates public relations and marketing for the park;
oversees, implements and administers interpretive programs; supervises
the collection and management of artifacts.
