Wildlife Specialist II - Game & Fish Department, Wyoming. Announcement Number: 8069. Salary: $2,435 - $4,956 monthly. Description of Duties: Enforces state and federal statutes and commission regulations which provide for wildlife conservation, public use of wildlife and public safety, with an emphasis on long-term, complex and/or covert investigations; acts as an enforcement coordinator and advisor on an intra- and inter-departmental level. Initiates, develops, coordinates and conducts long-term, complex and covert wildlife law enforcement investigations requiring special expertise and equipment; coordinates and assists in regional and statewide enforcement efforts in high demand periods; prepares and submits complete, accurate enforcement reports and documents; contributes ideas, problem solutions and strategies to improve department operations and law enforcement efforts. Preference will be given to individuals with: Knowledge of state and federal wildlife laws and regulations; knowledge of court procedures, investigative techniques, case law, court decisions and department policies and guidelines concerning enforcement activities; knowledge of wildlife management practices. Skill in oral and written communications; skill in computer use and programs; skill in interpersonal relations concerning the public, criminal suspects and defendants, witnesses and others in the criminal justice system; skill in law enforcement officer safety and survival. Education: Any combination of training and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, administration of justice, wildlife management or closely related field plus four years of professional work experience in law enforcement. Positions will require POST certification. Preference will be given to those applicants with experience in criminal investigations.
